Amat Palacios was a Mexican Federal Judicial Police officer from Juárez who worked as a mercenary for the DEA as part of Operation Leyenda.
Palacios was contacted by his friend Walt Breslin, who promised to provide bail to his brother, who was imprisoned in the United States for armed robbery. Palacios' knowledge of Northern Mexico proved to be an immense help for the DEA. He was killed by the Guadalajara cartel in the Chiapas airfield ambush in 1988.
