Efram Gonzalez, known as the Spaniard, was a Basque bomb-maker affiliated with the Basque separatist organization ETA. His bomb making skills made him a celebrity for hire.

Efram was the son of the Spanish Admiral Antonio Gonzalez Villamil. He studied in several high schools and a boarding school in Bogotá, Colombia, where he graduated as a Bachelor. He was later admitted in the faculty of law at the Catholic University of Barcelona, where he took part in a student strike.

He later joined the ETA, and built bombs used in the assassination of Spanish Prime Minister Luis Carrero Blanco and Defense Minister Alejandro Rivera.

In 1989, he agreed to work with Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar in exchange for 5,000 kilograms of cocaine. He placed an explosive inside a recording machine, which was used in the Avianca Flight 203 bombing carried out by Jaime Carrera.
