Extraditables

Their motto was "Better a grave in Colombia than a cell in the United States."

Los Extraditables (Spanish: The Extraditables) was an organization created by the Medellín cartel in the mid-1980s after Colombia had signed an extradition agreement with the United States.

The organization aimed to force the government into revoking the extradition agreement by bribing, intimidating and assassinating politicians and judges. Cartel member Carlos Lehder also gave anti-American speeches on the radio under the influence of cocaine, and José Rodríguez Gacha hired a team of Israeli mercenaries to protect his assets.

Extradition was repealed by a landslide in 1990, allowing Escobar and the Ochoa brothers to voluntarily imprison themselves in luxurious Colombian prisons.
