Nicolás Rodríguez was a Colombian a lawyer and son of Cali cartel leader Gilberto Rodríguez Orejuela.

Despite his eagerness towards the cartel affairs, his father refused to involve him in the business, and sent him to law school. However, he impressed his father after he had cartel money launderer Franklin Jurado murdered inside an American detention center.

Gilberto hired his son as his personal lawyer after his unexpected arrest in 1994. He began a negotiation with the prosecution in order to secure his father's release. He told his father that his personal accountant Guillermo Pallomari knew too much about the workings of the cartel, and Gilberto sent Navegante to assassinate him. However, the DEA secured Pallomari and placed him under witness protection in the United States, and had him, along with Jorge Salcedo testify against the Cali cartel in American courts.

Nicolás informed his father that his negotiations had failed, and that Gilberto, along with his brother Miguel Rodríguez Orejuela would be extradited to the United States for drug trafficking.
